Conflicts

The major conflict is that Mr. and Mrs. Dickens are very sick and are dieing. Eddie then has to go live with his

Mad Aunt Maud and Mad Uncle Jack. While living with them they take Eddie to the orphanage and he then has

to live there. Of course Eddie doesn't want to live there. He then tries to escape from the orphanage to get

back home. He manages to get out and hurries home.

Quote

"Who remembers the name of the second human being to set foot on the moon."  p. 44

"I said, i think you should remove your cloths." p. 16

"She studied the timepiece in her gnarled hands." p. 32

 Author

Over six and a half feet tall, with a bushy beard Philip Ardagh is not only very big but also very hairy. He is the author of the Eddie Dickens Trilogy and when not writing silly books, Mr. Ardagh is quite serious and frowns a great deal. He lives in a seaside town somewhere in England with his wife, and their son, Fred.

Setting

It is in Europe in the early 1800's.

Theme

The theme is that no matter how weird our relatives may be we have to accept them for who they are.
