THE NOTEBOOK

(Ever since 1900)

Abandoned church burned to the ground!

On October 23 1960, three delinquent people turned to heroes when they saved kids from an old burning church. The incident took place around 5pm in the afternoon, a class trip turned into a nightmare, when the church on top of Jay Mountain started burn and. 5 kids, around the age of 8 was stranded inside the church. Two people by the name of Ponyboy Curtis  and Johnny Cade strike through the door of the burning church while Dallas Winston went around the back to open the window, Johnny and Ponyboy passed the kids out the window saving the kids from burning flames.
Johny Cade was brought  to the hospital when he suffered some severe burns and a broken back when a burning wood hit him. It's a good thing Dally was there to save him before dying. A teacher by the name of Jerry Wood said, "We were just having a picnic when the church starts to burn. those boys are 3 of the bravest kids I've ever known."
Detectives and the police are still trying to identify and figure out what or who started the fire. Detective Bob Mathews stated, "We investigated the church and out theory  was that a  cigarette was left lit inside and when it touched a cloth the fire spread out, burning the church.
Johnny Cade and Dallas Winston were brought to the hospital, Dallas had some minor burns and Ponyboy Curtis was saved by a jacket that Dallas Winston gave him, leaving him with very few burns on his body. The witnesses said that two boys went and slammed through the door to save the kids. They burst open the window letting the kids out from the burning church. The parent of one of the kids stated "I'm glad they were there to save them" The three boys managed to save all the kids. The teacher was so glad that they didn't die and thanked them so much. The mystery of the burning church still stands as a mystery.

 DEAR ABBY COLUMN

Dear Abby,

No one could help me of my addiction on the show Mickey Mouse. When it's on, it's like I can't do anything but watch it. I know Mickey mouse is for kids but I'm around 18 years old and I still watch it. I also need to get rid of my smoking habits. In our town we're divided, Greasers and Socs. I'm a greaser and we like to smoke a lot. If I don't get rid of it I might die, so Abby could you help me?

                                                                                                                   Two - Bit Matthews

Dear Two-bit,

My advice to you is to find other things to do rather than watch Television. You could hang out with friends and try to get your mind out of Mickey Mouse. For your addiction in smoking I'd say that you throw all the cigarettes you have and don't buy one anymore. If you can't then try to control it, for example, smoke only once a day and try to last one pack for one month or two. If you're bored try to do something that doesn't involve smoking.

                                                                                                                                         Abby

Dear Abby,

Could you give me an advice on how to raise a healthy family. Our father and mother died already and somehow I was left responsible for my two brother. I'm around 20 years old and I have 2 brothers named Ponyboy Curtis 14 years old and Sodapop Curtis 17 years old. I know those names are kind of weird but it's our names. I work morning to night and I can't take care of them. I know they're old enough but they still act immatures.

                                                                                                                                   Darry Curtis

 Dear Darry,

My advice to you is to find a job that only goes from morning to night but still get a better pay. I agree with you that they're old enough to take care of themselves but they still need care so the don't grow up immature. If you can't just write back and I'll help you with some more things

                                                                                                                                      Abby
